Louie Loves: The J.Crew Garrison Fatigue Jacket

We love this jacket.  It is technically a men’s jacket, and obviously guys look great in it, but we are really recommending it for ladies here.  It is the ultimate ‘boyfriend’ jacket but who wants to share?  We should point out that despite being cotton, it is actually warm (and lined).  Granted we live in always sunny LA but we’ve packed this for our recent trips to the east coast and been perfectly toasty with it layered over a sweater.  It’s definitely a winter jacket in Cali but we would perfect for spring and fall elsewhere because it looks best over just a little dress or plain white tee.  You do probably have to be tall to pull it off – we’re 5’8 and the small hits just below the hip.  This length is what makes it so nice over short dresses – the few inches of dress peeking out below the army green are just perfect.  The color has that just worn in enough look that J.Crew does so well for men and totally fails at for women.  And we love all the details.  The collar is amazing.  It stands up but doesn’t look officially ‘popped’ if that makes sense.  It also has a hood, which is very handy in the case of an unexpected shower, but because of the way it cleverly buttons on it doesn’t disrupt the shape of the collar and its detachable.  There are tons of pockets which are roomy enough to stealthy hold all of your belongings so you can appear breezy and low maintenance and still have several lip gloss options, shades, and your phone all with in easy reach.  Other key details – the front closure has buttons and a zipper so you can fully bundle up or just close one button against the wind.  It also has an interior drawstring at the waist (which we have to say isn’t super manly) so you can cinch it a little at the waist to make sure you still have a shape.  Finally, you can throw it in the washer and dryer!  Pretty confident if they made this exact same jacket for women they would say you had to dry clean it.  We’ve has ours for about a year now and we wear it constantly.

Check it out at J.Crew.
